About

Kat Allie is the Department Chair of Fine Arts and Humanities for Ozarks Technical Community College.  Kat has been a college Art instructor since 2002, and undoubtedly affirms that Painting is her favorite course to teach.  Ms. Allie also serves as manager for the OTC Fine Art Galleries located on the Springfield, Richwood Valley, Lebanon, and Waynesville Missouri campuses.  Kat is a practicing artist and has been a vital part of the Springfield arts community since 2006. Ms. Allie's artwork was previously shown in “figment. Gallery and culture house” within the Randy Bacon Monarch Art Factory where she was a featured studio artist from 2007~2010.  Since the summer of 2010, Kat Allie’s artwork has been represented and featured by Springfield’s most prestigious gallery hotspot, Obelisk Home.   Kat’s work has been exhibited nationally and internationally in Japan.  Ms. Allie has artwork published in three books and has received numerous awards for photography, jewelry, mixed media, printmaking, and painting.  Kat’s chosen painting media is encaustic paint, or the ancient form of painting with hot beeswax, damar resin, and colored pigments. Recently, Kat’s original encaustic work was featured in an article published by the Missouri Arts Council, Bees, Sticky Trees, and Blowtorches: Encaustic Painting Enthralls Missouri Artists.

Ms Allie is an active member of the ARTS community, supporter of numerous local non-for-profit organizations, and volunteers her time with arts integration and teaching artists with Springfield Public Schools.  Currently, Kat is serving her second consecutive 3 year term as Board Member of the Springfield Regional Arts Council and is also a member of the SRAC’s First Friday Art Walk and Marketing committees. Kat’s work can be found in several private collections and public spaces such as the Springfield Plastic Surgery Center, Buzbee Dental, James River Assembly of God Women’s and Children’s Center, Grove Spa, Hebrews Coffee, Ozarks Technical Community College, Equality Healthcare, Obelisk Home, and the Vision Clinic downtown.  Kat Allie loves creating, teaching, and inspiring students and viewers to IMAGINE.
